Galerie Zink, Munich Private Collection Sotheby's, London, 2 July 2008, lot 425 Acquired from the above sale by the present owner
[Nara’s work evokes] the immediacy of children's feelings that his grown-up audience had long forgotten but that were nevertheless preserved in the recesses of their minds. These feelings in turn gave them the strength to accept their own solitude and to understand life as an inextricable mixture of loss and hope.
This work is in very good condition. The sheet is slightly undulating. There are very gentle surface irregularities, inherent to the artist's original execution method. Please note that it was not examined out of its frame. "In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above.
