Condition

This work is in good condition overall. There is evidence of wear and handling to the edges, including some previous mat staining along the extreme edges and the upper right corner has been irregularly cut. The sheet has discolored slightly with age. There is a slight undulation ot the sheet, inherent to the artist’s working method. Under very close inspection, there is a small brown spot accretion visible along the bottom left edge. The sheet is hinged verso to the mat intermittently along the edges. Framed under Plexiglas.

Catalogue Note

"I liked the intimacy of drawing against the object quality of my painting. I'd always liked to draw...but I felt I had to find a way to use collage in drawing, to incorporate my own way of working on that intimate scale."
