Condition
Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality has more magenta undertones and it fails to convey the nuances of the pink tones on the bow and birds visible in the original. The paper tone is slightly warmer in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. The sheet is hinged verso to the backing board at all four corners and undulates. All collaged elements are stable. Close inspection reveals some glue residue to the gold appliqué, which is inherent to the artist's working process. Visible only when inspected out of its frame is some slight discolouration along the edges. Further close inspection reveals a small crease towards the centre of the lower edge and some unobtrusive media accretions and minute fox marks in isolated places throughout. There is evidence of light water staining along the lower edge.
