Condition
Colour: The colour in the catalogue illustration is fairly accurate, although the overall tonality has less green undertones, and tends more towards vibrant yellow in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. The sheet is laid to a backing board, which is original and hinged verso to the window mount. There is some discolouration, light handling marks, tiny spots of foxing and minute media accretions to the backing board. Examination out of its frame reveals a broken crease to the lower centre right of the backing board. Examination of the painted sheet reveals some light surface dirt, some media accretions, faint scuffs and some very faint drying cracks to the areas of thicker paint. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
