Description

  • width 5 1/2 in.; 14 cm
each bowl naturalistically modeled with seven variegated pink petals extending up the sides beyond the mouth, three further petals folding outward around the exterior, the cover similarly surrounded by petals enclosing a pod-shaped dome centered with a knop. 4 pieces.

Condition

One bowl has a U-form break to two of the vertical petals (restored), wear to the surface (including shallow flakes to enamel), and extensive overspray. The other bowl has two of the outward-folding petals off and restored, firing lines to the rim, and extensive overspray. One cover has restored breaks and overpainting. The other cover has a branching hairline crack from the rim and a firing line to the interior.
