Condition

Overall in very good condition. The wood surfaces with scattered scuffs, scratches, nicks, dents, abrasions, and some minor areas of rubbing and discoloration, all consistent with age and use. There are natural knots, irregularities, and separations in the wood grain, typical for Inland fir, which have been reinforced with wood infill in areas by Molesworth at the time of production. The chair overall with some fading to the painted areas, most prominently to the moose motif, consistent with age and use and as visible in the catalogue illustration. The rear proper left leg with two somewhat more prominent abrasions, both stable, the larger measuring approximately 1 ¼ x 3/8 in. The handle to the rear of the seatback with a more prominent abrasion measuring approximately 3/16 x 3 in. The leather is original and a lovely pale lemon hue; its surfaces with scattered surface scratches, nicks, dents, abrasions, and instances of rubbing and discoloration, all consistent with age and use. The front edge of the seat with a more prominent but minor area of rubbing measuring approximately ¼ x 3/8 in. The brass tacks with some minor surface scratches and areas of rubbing, not visually distracting and consistent with age and gentle use. A creative routed and stained motif, the chair presents a moose on the seat back with correlating routed "moose-tracks" on the front and back apron.
