circular, the cavetto painted with a view of soldiers in the field, shown standing or on horseback in their distinct uniforms based on national dress of the Caucasus, the gilded border polished and engraved with a band of berry laurel and oak leaves with the Imperial State Seal, the underside with gilded foot and border, with black overglaze Russian inscription reading ‘His Majesty's Own Convoy, Muslim Unit’ and ‘From a design by Balashov I. Ivanov 1879’, with green Imperial cypher of Alexander II
