Catalogue Note

One of Spain's most prestigious and enduring jewellery houses, Carrera y Carrera has been producing fine jewels since 1885, when Saturio Esteban Carrera moved from Alcalá de Henares to Madrid and opened a small workshop in the area known as Barrio de las Letras. The company grew under the leadership of his son, José Esteban Carrera, and in turn his grandsons and great grandsons, who in the 1970s built on their family's heritage to create the brand Carrera y Carrera as it is known today.

The company have received many prestigious commissions throughout their history, most notably for the creation of a wedding tiara for Queen Fabiola of Belgium in 1960, and their designs continue to attract many high profile collectors today, counting Lady Gaga, Madonna and Demi Moore among their fans.
