Catalogue Note

Friant's works count few subjects dedicated to children, except for his prints (see lot 139). At the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th, he executes a few works showing a mother with her child, like Mother and child playing violin (1908, Musée des Beaux-Arts, Nancy).
