Description

the baluster body rising from a hexagonally lobed foot to a short waisted hexagonal neck, painted around the exterior in rich cobalt-blue tones with six fish swimming amidst swirling water, all below a lotus-filled ruyi collar and above a band of lotus lappets

Condition

The jar has a 9cm., long three-pointed star crack to the neck, a 16cm., hairline horizontal crack to the shoulder, a 4x3cm., section of loss to the body at the shoulder with two associated 30 and 16 cm., cracks, a 5x4cm., area of glaze misfiring, several firing cracks, an uneven base and shallow flakes to the bottom of the base.
