  • Height 4 1/4  in., 10.8 cm
set over four 'elephant head' feet, the broad sides carved with keyfret, the narrow sides with high-relief 'beast mask' handles, the cover with a beast-form finial, the stone celadon and apple-green color with russet inclusions (2)

Condition

The vessel with a chip and small losses to the tusks of the elephant head-form legs, the base is uneven with a polished down section, there are small nicks to the rims. The cover with possibly polished down small chips to extremities of the figural finial. Both with expected wear and a high, lustrous polish.
