Description

  • Height 8 1/2  in., 21.6 cm
of archaistic gui form, the body with taotie motif on a leiwen ground set between narrow bands of confronting kuilong, dragon-form handles applied to either side, the fitted cover with further dragons on leiwen ground and inscribed meng jiang dun centered by a square, crenelated knop, all covered in a pale yellow glaze, the interior fitted with a separate conforming liner, both turquoise-enameled, wood stand (4)

Condition

Each in overall good condition with light wear. The yellow vessel and cover with firing imperfections including kiln grit and slightly smoked glaze. Please note that this lot includes a stand, frame or other component made from a type of Chinese hardwood, which, if exported, will require a CITES permit to leave the United States.
