  • Width 7 1/4  in., 18.4 cm
of barbed quatrefoil section with rounded sides, finely painted with quadrilobed panels alternately enclosing three goats in a river landscape and a long-tailed bird perched on a peony branch, all reserved against a lapis-blue ground with floral sprays, the gilt-metal cover pierced with interlocking wan diaper (4)

North Carolina Private Collection, acquired in the 1930s.

Condition

The warmers are in good overall condition. One has only one half of the handles and the screws connecting the handle have been replaced. The enamel with some light wear, typical crazing, surface scratches and minor losses (largest approx. 1 x 0.5 cm). The lattice on the covers has been bent, and one cover has a small break at the edge of the lattice.
