Description

  • Height of tallest 8 1/4  in., 21 cm
comprising a sancai-glazed figural group of the Hehe Erxian with a wood stand, Kangxi period; a sancai-glazed model of a boat, Kangxi period; two sancai-glazed 'Buddhist lion' joss stick holders, one Kangxi period and the other 19th century; and a pair of famille-verte ingot-form brush washers, 19th century (7)

Provenance

Condition

The brush washers in overall good condition with only minute burst glaze bubbles to the rims. The Hehe Erxian with one head off and re-stuck and minor losses to the extremities. The boat missing one passenger, the other passenger re-stuck, and minor frits. The taller joss stich holder with restored breaks to the column, loose eyes, and minor expected wear; the shorter joss stick holder with losses to the tail and column (all as illustrated). Please note that this lot includes a stand, frame or other component made from a type of Chinese hardwood, which, if exported, will require a CITES permit to leave the United States.
