Description

Each set with a pear-shaped diamond within a border of similarly set graduated circular-cut diamonds, Austrian assay and maker's marks.

Provenance

Given by Archduke Frédéric of Austria to his daughter, Archduchess Marie Anne of Austria on the occasion of her wedding to Prince Elie de Bourbon Parme in 1903.Princess Marie Anne de Bourbon Parme mentions in her inventory:

"Un écrin rouge écarlate (Schwarz und Steiner) avec pendeloques en diamants à porter avec les boutons ci-dessus. Ces pendeloques m'ont été données par mon père pour mon mariage". 

[A scarlet case (Schwarz und Steiner) with diamond pendants to be worn together wit the studs mentioned above (lot 71). These pendants were given by my father for my wedding].

Condition

Austrian assay mark for 14 carat gold and mounted in silver. Maker's mark. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 8.00 - 9.00 carats, on average I-J colour, SI-I clarity, as gauged and graded within the limitations of the mount. Signs of normal wear to the metal consistent with age, small signs of tarnish. In good condition. Total gross weight approximately 6 grams.
