Description

The case with engine turned design, the white dial set with roman numerals, on a gold chain, signed Patek Philippe, numbered, assay mark for gold and maker's mark, fitted case unsigned; the cufflinks designed as gold plaques engraved with entwined Cs, Austrian assay mark for gold, and the chain designed for pocket watches, supporting a watch key, length approximately 300mm, French assay marks for gold.

Provenance

The gold pocket watch was given to Henri V, Comte de Chambord (1820-1883), by his sister, Princess Louise Marie Thérèse de France, Duchess of Parma and Piacenza (1819-1864).

Condition

Please note we do not guarantee watch movements. Please note that the movements have not been tested for the accuracy of their time keeping and therefore a service should be carried out in the near future at the buyer's expense. Manual winding movement, jewelled. Please be advised that the movement is not working at the time of cataloguing and will therefore need the attention of a watchmaker. Cuvette signed Patek Philippe & Co, case and cuvette numbered 13719. Cufflinks with Austrian assay marks for 14 carat gold. Scratches to the metal consistent with normal use. In overall good condition. Gold chain with French assay marks for 18 carat gold. Minor evidence of wear to the metal. In good condition. Total gross weight approximately 52 grams.
