Description

  • Olympia
  • signed and dated 2015 on the overlap

Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. The neon frame elements are in sound working order. The surface texture irregularities, particularly the folds and creases, are consistent with the artist's working method and choice of medium. There is evidence of light wear and handling to the neon tubes, particularly at the far corners. Under close inspection there are a few white areas on the neon tubes where the bulbs were joined together likely from the time of execution. This work is suited for a US outlet.

It is 1865. You are on the threshold of a small room somewhere with floral wallpaper. You’ve opened the door and scared the cat. The maid doesn’t acknowledge you, but she does. She looks you over, sizes you up, demands payment.
