Condition

The panel is comprised of two pieces of wood brought together by a vertical join which is reinforced on the verso with three horizontal strips of wood. The overall panel is flat, stable, and un-beveled. Along the join there is very minimal retouches, only a couple very small brush strokes along the lower section of the join. The torso, face, and drapery of the figure are all well preserved, showing little, or no retouches at all. The area in and around the hair show generally applied retouches, which are visible under UV but show very dark to the naked eye. Similarly, two strips at either ends of the panel show retouches, but again are very dark when viewed with the naked eye. Overall, the essential parts of the composition are in quite a nice state of preservation.
