Condition

Unexamined out of frame. The board appears stable and all elements of the collage appear intact and securely adhered. There are Artist's pinholes to the upper corners, to the centre of the upper and lower edges, to the lower left corner, to the lower right corner (with pinhead visible), and to the upper parts of the left and right edges. The upper left corner is lightly rounded, with further lighter rounding to the remaining three corners. There is some paint loss to the extreme lower edge, with some possible further lifting to this area, with one or two further tiny nicks to the remaining extreme edges. The collaged and relief elements are torn and lifting in places, in keeping with the Artist's working methods. There are one or two spots of adhesive and studio detritus visible in places. Subject to the above, the work appears in very good overall condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is floated and held behind glass in a painted wooden frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
