Catalogue Note

Landscape of the Toad's Mouth Rock was drawn at Hathersage, Derbyshire, while Nash was staying with Richard Seddon in Sheffield after visiting his own retrospective at Temple Newsam House, Leeds. He exchanged the work for a drawing by Seddon (see Andrew Causey, Paul Nash, Oxford University Press, Oxford, 1980, p.461).
