Description

Designed as a peacock feather set throughout with circular-cut gemstones, including  tsavorites, spessartite garnets, sapphires, rubies, and brilliant-cut diamonds, one terminal set with a pear-shaped diamond, the other with a cushion-shaped sapphire weighing 40.88 carats, signed Boucheron, numbered, French assay mark for gold and maker's mark.

Condition

Accompanied by Gübelin report no. 0505133, dated 23 May 2005, and SSEF report no. 102171, dated 6 September 2018, each stating that the cushion-shaped sapphire, weighing 40.88 carats, measuring 18.99 x 16.37 x 13.47mm, is of Ceylon origin, with no indications of heating. Signed BOUCHERON, numbered E02672, French maker's mark for Boucheron and assay mark for 18 carat gold. Various gemstones overall in good condition, minor abrasions. Cushion-shaped sapphire blue of medium strong saturation, with typical inclusions visible under magnification. For more information on the sapphire please refer to Gübelin and SSEF report. Pear-shaped diamond measuring approximately 2.87 x 1.01mm, depth not measurable, estimated to be J colour, VS-SI clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Remaining diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 3.00 - 4.00 carats, on average H-I colour, VS clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Necklace flexible and feather slightly articulated. Minor evidence of wear to the metal. In very good condition. Gross weight approximately 225 grams.
