The front suspending thirtheen thumblead emerald beads, supported from an undulated necklace with floral spacers set with circular-cut diamonds, length approximately 400mm, signed Schlumberger, French assay marks for gold and platinum and indistinct maker's marks, gross weight appproximately 139 grams, case stamped Schlumberger, together with a copy of the book Bijoux de Jean Schlumberger, Diana Vreeland, Franco Maria Ricci and Jean Schlumberger.

Condition

Jean Schlumberger created this Les Gouttes necklace in 1955, one year prior stating his collaboration with Tiffany & Co. as vice president, in his studio on rue de Ponthieu in Paris. Signed SCHLUMBERGER. Partial maker's mark with P. French assay marks for 18 carat and platinum. Emeralds of medium saturation, with typical surface-reaching inclusions, some with yellow and brown staining fissures, indented cavities, abrasions and nicks. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 4.00 - 4.50 carats, on average I-J colour, VS-SI clarity, as far as yellow mount permits. Signs of age to the metal with evidence of tarnish. Overall in very good condition. Clasp secure, safety catch. Gross weight approximately 140 grams. Fitted case stamped SCHLUMBERGER 4, RUE DE PONTHIEU PARIS.
