The pendant set with circular-cut and cushion-shaped diamonds and highlighted with black lacquer, the detachable lower section supporting two articulated tassels set with variously cut rubies, sapphires, emeralds and diamonds, to a tapered necklace composed of open rectangular and semi-circular onyx links, the spacers and clasp set with circular-cut and cushion-shaped diamonds, length approximately 430mm, signed Cartier.

Condition

Pendant formed as a clasp in two sections, signed Cartier London to clasp tongue of upper section of pendant. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 16.00 - 18.00 carats, estimated to be approximately H-K colour, mixed clarity grades, approximately VS1 to SI2. Verbal report from GCS, stating that the sapphires are of Basaltic origin, with no indications of heat treatment, the cushion-shaped and cabochon rubies are of Burmese origin and one cabochon ruby of Thai origin, all with no indications of heat treatment, and the emeralds are of Colombian origin, with indications of minor clarity enhancement. Please note that this is a verbal report, and no certificate was issued. Cushion-shaped rubies mid purplish-red, sapphires mid to deep blue, emeralds mid green, all of good saturation, transparent, with typical minor inclusions visible under magnification, some surface-reaching, some small areas of minor wear and chipping to facet edges. Largest ruby measuring approximately 7.3 x 5.8 x 2.4mm, calculated to weigh approximately 0.80 carats. Onyx black, opaque, some links with areas of brown translucency, some areas of very minor wear and to edges. Areas of wear to black lacquer accents on pendant. Links well-articulated, clasps closing securely. Scratches to metal and stone surfaces consistent with age and wear. Pendant with possible alterations, minor evidence of repair and associated discolouration of metal to reverse of pendant around clasp. Gem set tassels possibly later additions, and necklace possibly shortened. Overall in good condition. Pendant length approximately 35 x 78mm including tassel. Gross weight approximately 95 grams. Fitted case.
