Gifted by the Artist to Thomas Burt in the 1950s, and thence by descent to the present owner

Condition

There is an old, historic crack running down the top centre of the tile, some of which may have occurred during the production of the work. There are further areas of unevenness and slight firing imperfections, in keeping with the nature of the work, and some further traces of light surface dirt and matter.
