Catalogue Note

“Within a tight framework, he carried out a series of sculptures which, through extremely pure volumes, highly harmonious lines and an accentuated schematic sense, exalted the nativist subject... in [these works] his strength, violence and subject simplification reach their highest purity.”  Arturo Uslar Pietri, Trayectoria de Francisco Narváez (exhibition catalogue), Caracas, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Sofía Imber, 1976, p. 21
