The canvas is not lined. The surface is clean and richly textured and the impasto well preserved. There is some minor paint shrinkage in the dark green pigments in the leaves at right. There is a minor area of paint loss along the lower edge below the signature, not visible when framed. Under UV light, some original pigments fluoresce but no inpainting is apparent.
