Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a Rolex Full One Year Service Guarantee dated December 6, 2000, a service and replacement valuation receipt, sales receipt, and a service box.  Ref 6241 was produced in the late 60's from approximately 1966-1969 in relatively small quantities.  It is nearly identical to its predecessors, except for its introduction of the acrylic bezel.  Collectors at the time of production preferred more classic Daytona models, thus the production of the Paul Newman dial was extremely limited.  This has only increased contemporary interest from Rolex connoisseurs, as these dials are much more rare than those on other Cosmograph Daytona models.  The present lot, with its well preserved original exotic dial, is a truly exceptional collector’s piece.
