Catalogue Note

From the same lineage of legendary reference 1518, Patek Philippe’s very first perpetual calendar chronograph wristwatch, the reference 5970, was launched in 2004 and ended its production in 2011. 5970 is very popular among collectors not only because it has a bigger case that is more appropriate within today’s trend, but also because it houses the last of the Lemania-based movement before Patek Philippe introduced its in-house movement for the reference 5270. The present watch is a reference 5971 that has a diamond-set bezel with a total weight of approximately 4 carats with 36 Top Wesselton baguette-cut diamonds. This important piece has a very limited production and research suggests less than 100 examples of the Ref.5971 were made during its three year production run.
