Catalogue Note

The story of Audemars Piguet unfolded in 1875 when two young and ambitious watchmakers Jules Audemars and Edward Piguet, aged 24 and 22 at the time, founded the company in Vallée de Joux, Switzerland. For some time, the two watchmakers worked closely together without formalizing their partnership legally. The trademark of Audemars Piguet was hence officially registered in the year 1882.

To pay tribute to the founder of the brand and for its hundred-year-old lineage of traditional watchmaking, Audemars Piguet launched the Jules Audemars collection in 1997. The present watch features a triple-complication cal. 2874 with minute repeater, tourbillon and chronograph functions, this timepiece comprises more than 500 components with manual finishes on the delicate parts. This fine timepiece is defined by the timelessly classic round case and understated refined dial, embodying a legacy of intricate knowledge inherited from traditional horology.
