Condition

Overall in very good condition. The surfaces throughout with minor tarnishing and oxidation consistent with age and gentle handling. When viewed in person, the surfaces, slightly textured exhibit a wide range of tones ranging from deep gun metal grey, russet brown, warm bronze and golden hues further enhanced by its monumental scale and sense of verticality. The base with a conserved hairline radiating vertically from the underside upwards, measuring approximately 3 1/2in, is partially visible in the catalog illustration and possibly inherent in production. An unusually large and rare monumental vase whose classical form, geometric decoration and masterful execution denote all of the hallmarks of Dunand's early designs.
