Condition

Overall very good condition. The epoxy stone has been professionally cleaned and presents very well overall. There are a few occasional irregularities in the stone or faint color variations, which are inherent in the material. The stone of this model is traditionally a finer grain and slightly cooler in hue than the "Mouton de Pierre" model and this slight contrast in material presents nicely in this example. The bronze elements have been professionally and sensitively waxed to ensure the rich saturation of the metal is exhibited to its fullest potential. The bronze is a slightly warmer hue with inflections of chocolate brown and blue, which adds a nice level of complexity and dimension to the metal when compared against the catalogue illustration. The bronze is in very good condition with surface scratches and abrasions, particularly at the legs (as is faintly visible in the catalogue illustration). An iconic model by Lalanne, this example presents nicely alongside the other "Moutons" from this designation (lot 103, 104, 105, 107).
