Literature

Jewel Stern, Modernism in American Silver: 20th Century Design, exh. cat., Dallas Museum of Art, New Haven, 2006, front cover, pp. 34 (for the set in an International Silver Co. advertisement, 1928) and 69

Condition

Overall in very good condition. The metal surfaces with fine scattered scuffs and scratches throughout, consistent with age and gentle use and not visually distracting. The teapot with a pinhead indentation immediately adjacent to the base of the spout. The tip of the spout and interior surfaces of the teapot handle with some minor rubbing. The Bakelite knob to the teapot is slightly loose. The set screw to the sugar pot knob is missing, with no effect to the functionality of the piece. The front proper right corner of the sugar pot cover is slightly bent. One of the joins to the tray appears to have been resoldered at some point and is stable. A wonderful angular example of American Machine Age design.
