Description

  • Diameter 6 in., 15.2 cm
each with deep rounded sides rising to a gently flaring rim, the interior and exterior covered evenly in a liver-red glaze suffused with a dense network of craquelure, the base glazed white, rim bound in metal (2)

Provenance

Acquired in China during the first half of the 20th century, and thence by descent.

Condition

One bowl with an approx. 0.7 cm bruise to the inside edge of the footrim and two fine hairline cracks to the rim, the longer measuring approximately 4 cm long. The other with a crack to the rim measuring approx. 6 cm long and a L-shaped glaze crack running across the base.
