Description

  • Width 4 in., 10.2 cm
the thin, bell-shaped sides supported on a low, straight foot, carved to either side with a dragon-form double-loop handle, the scaly beast standing on two feet, arching its back, and grasping the rim in its mouth, the long tail curling below forming the second loop, inscribed a with later-added Qianlong four-character mark to the base and a Jiaqing mark to the outside of the foot, the stone a milky white color with opaque white and scattered russet inclusions

Condition

The cup rim with four small polished down chips, three of which are associated with the softer stone of tiny russet inclusions. There is an approx .5 cm section of polished down chips to the ridged spine of one of the dragon-form handles. The surface with expected light wear and minor scattered nicks.
