  • Height 8  3/4  in., 22.2 cm
the deep U-shaped body rising from three splayed triangular blade legs to a pointed rim opposite a guttered spout flanked by a pair of posts capped with conical finials, the exterior cast with two taotie masks with bulging eyes beneath a band of upright cicada lappets, one side set with a loop handle issuing from a bovine mask, enclosing an inscription reading X zhi fu xin, the surface oxidized with areas of malachite encrustations

Condition

The vessel is in generally good condition for its age with only short hairline cracks to the tops of the two legs nearest the spout and to one finial, and expected scattered minor losses to the oxidized surface. X-ray images are available upon request.
