Description
Designed as a bust of a figure wearing a turban, the face of carved amber, set with an oval and cabochon sapphires, circular-cut rubies, sapphires and emeralds and brilliant-cut diamonds, the turban set with a cultured pearl, signed Nardi.
Condition
Reverse of brooch signed Nardi, stamped 750 for 18 carat gold. Amber black to deep brown, opaque to translucent, with scratches and areas of light wear and chipping to carved surface. Carving in overall good condition. Diamonds bright and lively, estimated total diamond weight approximately 1.00 - 1.30 carats. Sapphires deep to mid blue, rubies mid to deep red, emeralds light green, all transparent, with typical inclusions visible to the naked eye, some minor areas of wear and chipping to surfaces. Cultured pearl measuring approximately 9.2mm diameter, bouton shaped, cream body colour with green and pink overtones, with unevenness, pitting and banding to the nacre. Overall dimensions approximately 6.8 x 4.1mm, gross weight approximately 43 grams. Scratches to surfaces consistent with wear. In good condition.
