Description

The brooch of circular openwork design, millegrain-set with circular- and single-cut diamonds and calibré-cut emeralds, signed Lacloche Frères, numbered, French import marks; the ring millegrain-set with a square-cut emerald flanked by circular-cut diamonds, unsigned, size M.

Provenance

The ring was Helen Stutz's engagement ring, worn together with the diamond and emerald brooch.

Condition

Brooch: signed Lacloche Frères and numbered 67748 on edge. Additionally stamped with French import assay marks for 18 carat gold on edge of brooch and on brooch fitting. Diamonds bright and lively, estimated total diamond weight approximately 1.70-1.90 carats. Emeralds mid green, transparent, typical surface reaching inclusions, some with fractures. Stone surfaces with wear, such as scratches, rubbed facet edges and chips. Light surface scratches to metal surfaces. Brooch fitting closes securely. Overall in good condition. Gross weight approximately 9 grams. Measuring approximately 37 x 35mm. Accompanied by case.Ring: Unsigned. Stamped PLATINE. Emerald mid green, transparent, typical surface reaching inclusions, there is a fracture and chip running along stone to one corner. Surface wear such as scratches, rubbed facet edges and chips. Diamonds bright and lively, estimated total diamond weight approximately 0.40 carats. Surface scratches to metal surfaces. Overall in good condition. Gross weight approximately 4 grams. Accompanied by case stamped Cameo Corner.
