Catalogue Note

Collaborative works between Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne are rare.
While often associated, works executed by the two artists together are not common.
Merle Perché is such work and epitomizes the world of the Lalannes: the animal world for François-Xavier and the plant world for Claude.
It is a highly important work in the artist's corpus.
