Catalogue Note

A remarkably detailed chess set, depicting the Napoleonic army and the British army in the famous Battle of Waterloo. Williams was a devoted chess player who taught the game to his sons. Several of his characters, including Mork, Tom Dobbs from Man Of The Year, and the Genie from Aladdin have scenes where they are playing.
