Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. The canvas is unlined. There is evidence of scattered surface soiling throughout and a few areas with pinpoint surface accretions. Under close inspection, there is evidence of stable craquelure to the pigment along the perimeter resulting in a few, very minor pinpoint losses to the pigment. There are a few pinpoint areas of loss to the diamond dust noted. Under Ultraviolet light inspection, there are a few minor areas which fluoresce darkly particularly along the perimeter at the left and the lower right corner. Unframed.

Catalogue Note

“I see everything like this: the surface of things, a kind of mental braille, I just put my hands on the surface of things. I consider myself an American artist. I feel good here, I find it’s formidable. It’s fantastic. I feel a representative of America. I like to be a void, it let me just work.” Andy Warhol
