Catalogue Note

Alex da Corte is a Philadelphia-based artist whose work with detached objects explores a state of delusion and humor.  'The Captive Savior' draws from this practice by incorporating a wide array of media within a flattened, bold space.  The present work was included in the 2014 exhibition 'Beyond the Pale' at Interstate Projects, Brooklyn.
