This work is in very good condition overall. The canvas is unlined and well-stretched. The colors are vibrant, and the media layer is stable. A minor pinpoint spot of pigment loss is present in the extreme upper right corner. A one inch vertical band of pigment loss is present at the extreme lower left edge, at the beginning of the water. Under ultraviolet light examination, no evidence of inpainting becomes apparent.

"When I am meditating at home in Costa Rica, I go into the garden and see the mountains behind, first I feel my oneness with everything, and something curious happens: first one has to concentrate on the detail when you want to see; but in this state, suddenly, I discover perceiving me all at once. The parts and the whole form a unit, and around you is a great whole into which you fit. When I paint I feel the need to express diversity. In many of my paintings you will find the counterpoint between the blanks - the absolutely pure canvas and densely worked detail.
