Condition

This work is in very good and structurally sound condition overall. All elements appear to be present and intact. The flag shows signs of wear, age, creasing, and subtle discoloration. The white rod, black bar, and metal elements have scattered surface accretions, faint scratches, and signs of wear, all consistent with artist's intention and choice of medium.

Catalogue Note

“There is a method in my work which has taken a pathological trend. From the point at which I was making work out of objects I became interested in how, actually, under which circumstances people treat other people like objects.” Cady Noland
