Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. There is minor evidence of handling along edges. The colors are bright and fresh.Under extreme raking light, minor canvas piling is visible and two very minor and unobtrusive surface abrasions are visible in the lower right corner. Under Ultraviolet light inspection, the aforementioned abrasions fluoresce lightly but do not appear to be the result of restoration. Framed.

Catalogue Note

"Anything that has beauty and provides order (rather than chaos or shock alone), anything resolved in a picture (as in nature) gives pleasure – a sense of tightness, as in being one with nature. Once you are beyond the pain and effort, finally there is something uplifting and pleasing in what you are being given. It is an order familiar and new at the same time."
