Condition

Good overall condition. The surface presents with the usual scattered light scratches, minute dents and minute chips of veneer, all consistent with age and use. More significant dents along the outer edges and the base. More significant dents and chips of veneer along the edges and the corners of the kneehole. The Macassar ebony is slightly dry overall and presents with a some light cracks and some discoloration. The edge of the top with stronger discoloration overall, as visible in the catalogue illustration.The Macassar ebony presents with traces of previous small restorations. The desk comes with a custom-made glass top, that presents with some light surface scratches and some surface soiling overall. With 5 keys. One escutcheon is missing. One is unfixed (and stored in the lower proper right drawer).
