Condition

There is some wear to the paper of the title slip. There are small areas of loss to the paper along the edges of the frontispiece. There is overall light wear and and staining and a ca. 10cm long shallow/light scrach to the lower part of the paper to the right of the second character. The colour of the paper is less yellow and a light sand colour than the catalogue illusration suggests. There are some losses and tears to the painting, especially to the lower right hand and upper right hand corners and along the lower right hand edge. The paper is slightly dirty around the upper right hand corner and along the upper and lower edges of the painting. There is a ca. 4x3cm large waterstain just below one of the bamboo branches. The paper is slightly dirty along the left hand side of the painting around the seals. There are small areas of loss to the paper along the lower and upper left hand edges of the painitng, there is a ca. 1cm long tear to the paper between the 2nd and 3rd seal from the top on the left hand side of the painting. There are some creases to the paper. The colour of the paper of the painting is less yellow and more of a sand colour than the catalogue illustration suggests. There are losses to the paper bearing the colophones, the largest ca. 4x2 cm and 8x1 cm. There is some light staining and there some light retouching. The colour of the paper of the colophones is less yellow and more of a sand colour than the catalogue illustration suggests.
