Condition

This work is in very good overall condition. The enamel to the central part of the sculpture has a reflective effect compared to the catalogue illustration. There are traces of rubbing with pin-pointed losses by the metal supporting brackets. There are few tiny losses on the projecting perimeter upper left and towards the central right margin. No traces of retouching appear to be visible under UV light.

Catalogue Note

“It was symphony: intense, rhythmical, engaging; from the sculptures to the ceramics, from the surface to the substance, it will offer itself in a way that is so overwhelming  and innovative that its origin will pale into insignificance. (...)
From the dispersal of stones to the swelling of the stretched matter along astral lines, from the holes to the cuts, from the warmth of the pigments to the rarity of the white: from each of these […] there rises a persistent rhythm of a virtual time and of a intimately dreamed up space.” Giorgio Cortenova, Lucio Fontana.
