Condition
The canvas is not lined and is slightly undulating. There is a milky varnish preventing UV light from fully penetrating. However, examination under UV light appears to reveal one small spot of retouching in the green pigment above the book towards the centre of the left edge (approx. 10 cm from left edge and 33 cm from lower edge). There is one tiny paint loss in the brown pigment towards the centre of the upper edge (approx. 5 cm from upper edge and 19 cm from left edge). There is some frame rubbing along the edges. There ae a few minor fine lines of craquelure in places, notably in the flowers. There is a fly spot towards the lower right corner. This work is in overall good condition and could benefit from a light cleaning.
