Condition

Overall the condition of the terracotta is good, with some wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. There is a slip to the surface throughout, with greyish highlights. There is minor flaking to the slip in several areas, exposing the terracotta colour underneath. There are a few minor hairline firing cracks, including at the hips on both sides. There is some possible fill to the rim of the shell. There are a few small chips, notably around the bottom edge.
