Description

  • Florence Knoll
  • Parallel Bar Bench
  • with producer's decal label
  • matte chromium-plated steel, original leather upholstery

Condition

Overall very good condition. The leather is in good, original condition consistent with age and gentle use. There is some minor rubbing and wear to the outer corners of the cushion and areas of leather piping. All buttons appear original. The surface of the leather is a semi-aniline texture (not smooth like lot 426). The piece is in excellent period condition and executed between 1961 and 1969. Designed by Florence Knoll as part of the Planning Unit (active 1946-1971), the interior design arm of Knoll, the bench is an iconic piece of mid-century office design.
